MiniDV
A JVC DVM60 cassette.
This is a little different from other project pages, more or less because i havent had a chance to experiment
with the technology/idea yet. But for a summary; MiniDV is a magnetic tape cassette that was released in 1995,
and became obsolete around the 2010s with the rise of USB and digital storage in camcorders. Its an interesting
format as it was released purely digital, compared to other mangetic tape cassettes which were mostly analogue
(excluding sony's lineup of cassettes such as Hi8).
The idea
Sooo... why is this relevant? Well, as i mentioned, its purely digital. As a result, it can be "hijacked" to write data on it that isnt video signals, meaning its possible to use MiniDV as a tape storage device.
